Fiction
I’m passionate about creating characters, telling authentic stories, and exploring different settings and eras. I specialise in drama screenplays for film and TV, with a particular interest in fact-based stories.
I’ve achieved distinction-level master’s degrees in creative writing from the University of Leeds and Teesside University, specialising in screenwriting and prose writing, respectively. I attained a certificate in feature film writing from UCLA Extension and have a research degree in history (also from the University of Leeds).
My work has been recognised by competitions including BlueCat (semi-finalist) and NYC Midnight (top 20 finalist).
I’m also the founder of The Fact-Based Screenplay, a platform dedicated to crafting screen stories from real-life source material.
Here, I explore things like screenwriting craft, storytelling structure, and research methods. I also analyse produced scripts to learn how the writers shaped the actual events into a compelling screen narrative.
My aim is to create a useful resource and an interesting read for anyone who shares my love of history, writing, and great screen stories. Check it out!
